How billing works when MYOB AE holds the money

MYOB AE firmsFor: Partner, AdminAccess: Partner, Admin

BMS shows WIP, billed amounts and debtors exactly as MYOB AE has them; invoices stay in MYOB AE.

If your firm keeps its WIP, bills and debtors in MYOB Accountants Enterprise, BMS does not raise invoices of its own. Instead, Billing shows the firm’s money as MYOB AE has it:

  • Unbilled shows unbilled WIP by age.
  • Realization shows what was charged, written up, billed and written off.
  • Receivables shows debtors by age.
  • Bank Matching lines up payments from your bank statement with MYOB AE’s open invoices.
Billing Invoices in a MYOB AE firm: a panel titled This firm bills in MYOB AE explains that bills are raised in MYOB AE and links to Unbilled WIP, Realization and Debtors.

Every figure carries a MYOB AE pill with the time it was read. Time your team enters in BMS is still time, but it only becomes WIP once it reaches MYOB AE.

Still need help?

Ask your firm's BMS admin first: they can see your access level and your firm's settings. Clients of a firm should contact their accountant.
